@WayneSchulz , I am so glad you just sent out the newsletter. I have been examining the pricing and had completely overlooked that the typical 2 users of Crystal Reports appears to no longer be included with your purchase under subscription. Keep totaling this up and hope I get it correct and make this sale.

I sent Sage an email asking whether the Crystal Reports was still included or if now people are expected to pay $22/mo. If they are expected to pay monthly I also asked if they had to buy the same number of Crystal licenses as Sage licenses.

Years ago, I understood the Crystal Licenses matched user licenses. Then the CDs would state a 2 user license. I made a practice to install 1 copy on the server and the second on the candidate best served in the office. I have asked Sage the same question.

Yes to the $20/mo for Crystal - only the runtime version is included The Platinum support is computed for legacy users as $2,000 flat fee on top of Gold price Appears that the Sage Intelligence and Sage CRM license are included but as part of the maintenance (this is not clear on the material Sage distributed -- the info is conflicting).

I wonder what happens on renewal for current clients on subscription. I wonder if licensing is going to be better managed with Crystal in a future release.

My impression is that the user will only purchase the # of full Crystal licenses that they require.

Dusting this thread off. We have a client we will be upgrading from 4.5 to 2017C. They have several users with the Crystal Designer program installed on their computers. I see that they get 2 Crystal licenses with the Advanced bundle. Does anyone know if Crystal ""phones home"" at all, or can it be installed on more than 2 locations?

I have not run into any issues with Crystal + Sage 100c. I also think that some of this information from the original thread is superseded. Sage initially indicated that they were charging for Crystal licenses. Then if I recall correctly they reversed course and the licenses were included. If there is a limit to how many can be in Crystal at one time - I've yet to hit it and most of my users would not have more than one or two in designer anyhow.

The licensing was changed after this post. It is back to the two users. I am not aware of anything Sage is doing to control this license but it has been a two user license for over 10 years and the client should be buying licenses for anything more than two machines whether Sage enforces it or not. I tell my clients this but also do not refuse to install and have never sold an additional Crystal License.
