Doing this this weekend from 2013 to 2015... what did you run into?

We usually do not run into problems

Have done many, no problems encountered. Can you elaborate on your steps and where the problems were?

I upgraded 2014 to 2015. Apparently you cannot just move the templates, they must be exported from 2014 and then imported to 2015. The two versions cannot share the same template directory. Doing this caused me to have to uninstall Sage 2015 completely, then reinstall. However, even after that, the export/import still does not work. These are consolidated reports using the Connector, so not sure if that may be the reason others are not reporting these issues. But I caution everyone not to think you can just upgrade this with no issues.

BTW all of the information I am reporting here is directly from Sage support team.

We try to make a habit of creating the template in a non-version specific folder so the templates don't have to move, and we just point to the same repository. I haven't experienced issues with that in the past (2013-14), but it is good to know we may run into it!

@Michelle - that is exactly what I tried to do, and it blew up completely. Sage says you cannot do that. I'm just the messenger.

What a big PITA! I first ran into that moving from v4.4 to v2013. Since then, the EB method has worked. Such an obvious way that Sage could add value now that SI is gaining some traction.

I have had similar lousy experience upgrading Sage Intell. I believe the following steps need to be taken. Please correct me if I am wrong! 1)Export the Intell reports. 2)Remove the Intell licenses from the workstation 3)Remove all .SVD filesthere can be more than one copy! 4)Install new version of Sage 100 5)Create a NEW report repository. You cannot use the old one! 6)Enter the new Intell licenses 7)Import the reports from the backup files.

I don't get it. Had no such issues 2014-2015. Now I'm skeered of the next upgrade... but previous client is running just fine.

Wow. I just used the same report repository in the new version and it worked just fine. I try to keep my SI template very basic, though, so there isn't much complexity.

My client uses the connector and has many complex reports. Perhaps that made a difference.
