  • 1.  Warning: The item cost is zero.

    The customer has several miscellaneous items that have a quantity and price and zero cost.  During sales order lines data entry, the message "Warning: The item cost is zero." pop up window displays and the user needs to click "OK" to close the pop up window.  Is there a way to stop the "Warning: The item cost is zero." pop up window other than entering a cost for the miscellaneous item in miscellaneous item maintenance?

    Isn't a role setting to display cost during data entry?

    I don't see a role setting but maybe I am missing something.  I did notice that if the "Display Unit Cost" check box is not checked in SO Setup Options, Line Entry tab, the pop up box doesn't display.  However, then the cost doesn't display for all of the items.  Not sure is that will be acceptable.

    You could add a .01 cost for the misc. items and use the same account so it is a wash?

    That's it @Therese Logeais  Thank you.  Set the inventory and CGS to the same account number.   I should have known that because that is how I have my "/CONSULT" misc item set up on my system for billing service revenue.
