Warning, Sage 100 v2018 Payroll. Some banks require a ""1"" followed by the company's FEIN in lieu of the origination number on the checking account. Prior versions of Sage would allow for this. VERSION 2018 DOES NOT. This is a known issue to Sage and they plan on releasing a fix with their next PU in TWO MONTHS. DO NOT UPGRADE if your customer used Payroll with Direct Deposit and their bank has this requirement. Much wailing and gnashing of teeth here.

Time to email Linda Cade? This seems to fit in the critical category. They are working on a set of payroll hot fixes right now so maybe the issue could be escalated and the fix added.

Is it possible to edit the direct deposit file in Notepad? I know it is a PITA, but it might work until the fix is out.

My first thought was the same as Jane Cavanaugh's. Especially if the client is not using the Sage Payroll Services portion of handing the DD, and just uploads the complied file to their bank. (We do that a LOT now because of the 2 day requirement Sage has for processing Payroll - our clients don't like that.)
