  • 1.  W2 and 1099 e-filing threshold

    Quick question, now that the threshold for printing 1099's and W2's is 10 recipients, is Aatrix the only option for e-filing. Customer is asking if they can create a file and upload manually?

    I'm not aware of any other options readily available.  Aatrix full service fees are $2.60 per employee / vendor with a $24.95 minimum.  Even if you're paying the minimum a couple of times, it has to be cheaper than buying W2 and 1099 forms, printing, mailing and figuring out how to efile another way.

    DSD used to have several magnetic media / electronic filing options for different states. It looks like they are down to only one ( Alabama ).  I recommend telling the customer they're on their own if they want to create a CSV to upload. Be aware there may be penalties for improperly formatted uploads so I would not be fast to jump at creating an export file. Aatrix is the way to go here.
