  • 1.  Visual Process Flows - Flash End of Life

    I have a client wanting to use Visual Process Flows and had a question for me about Flash security and end of life for that product. I see that Flash will reach end of life at the end of next year. What is the plan for Visual Process Flows if it exclusively uses Flash? Have you heard anything about the future of this? Their specific question/statement is below.

    We have been talking to our IT company to try and get Adobe Flash on our terminal server in order to access the flows, but they are very adamant about not installing it, since it will create security vulnerabilities for the terminal server. They also mentioned that Flash is being weeded out, and should not be used by the end of 2020.

    Has anyone come up with a solution for this that is not to get IT to turn Flash back on?

    "Since Adobe will no longer be supporting Flash Player after December 31, 2020 and Adobe will block Flash content from running in Flash Player beginning January 12, 2021, Adobe strongly recommends all users immediately uninstall Flash Player to help protect their systems."

    Today is the day and apparently at least one of our clients uses Visual Process Flows.

    I submitted a ticket to Sage to see if we can get an official response. Our clients are reporting this issue as well. I'll post back as soon as I hear anything.
