  • 1.  Visual Integrator: "priority values must be sequential" record failure

    Trying to do the world's simplest import into IM_AlternateItem file: 3 fields are all that are needed.  I have set up my .csv file to have the Sage Item Code, the Sage Alternative Item Code and the Priority (14 digit sequence counter field). I was diligent enough in my import source file to sequentially number the records in the file, starting with 00000000000001 and incrementing from there, starting over with 1 again when the Sage item code changes.  That attempt failed.  So then I thought I'd try letting VI just sequentially number starting with 1 and just incrementing for all the records and not starting the sequence over when the main Item code changes: same error.

    So now what?  What is wrong with VI that it won't import these records.  Version 2022.2 Premium.  This shouldn't be that hard.  Sample of my source file shown below.  I've searched in here, Sage KB and Sage Community and found nothing.

    @Jane Scanlan - if you actually RUN it, it will work just fine.  I just tested on 2024 Std and it did the same thing, but when I ran it, no errors and it worked.  I used the file, not the Incremental

    Why does VI have to be so stupid in its false messaging??  @Beth Bowers maybe you can yell at Sage for this one if you're feelin' feisty!

    Sage's official response in the past has been: don't use "Test".  It is WAD (their words, not mine), not intended to be full featured, and in some circumstances it can cause problems.  (I lean towards only using it to confirm column alignments).

    Yeah, now I remember that Sage stance.  So lame, I mean c'mon you have to use that Test feature on new VI jobs.  Whatev's Sage.
