Is there a way to use a Temp00x field as part of a skip record statement in VI?

I use temp fields as a conditional statement

I have also been able to used them as a conditional statement but when I put it in a skip statement on the records tab it doesn't work.  I'm wondering if i have to enclose it in something to let Sage know what type of data it is.

Yes, a very inconsistent approach in VI.  Would love to use a temp in the other two tabs.  Seems like a no brainer.  Post your thoughts on the idea web site so we can vote on it.  Already have two posted today.  These little issues really add up in the customer satisfaction ratings.
