  • 1.  Visual Cut works in batch file - no go with Windows Task Scheduler

    Posted 03-16-2020 15:17
I have Visual Cut emailing me a PDF based off Crystal  fine when I click a batch file. When I add that batch file to Windows Task Scheduler it does not send the report. I also do not get any error messages - the info on the task appears to indicate it ran just fine.

Any ideas on what may be going on?

Any mapped drives in use?  (Those won't work in a scheduled task).

If that is not the answer, turn on logging to get more details.

    2 things come to mind:

    1. Check the box for Run with Highest Privileges in Task Scheduler. Just try that alone if it wasn't checked.

    2. Associate the Task Scheduler job with a domain account (perhaps the one you are logged into the system as) if you were using a local one.

I'm going to have the IT guy try adding his administrator account. We have another task running in a similar manner and it's been running without a problem for months but that is running under the Administrator rather than my user account.

We always use an account with local admin permissions to run VC batches (...and any other scheduled tasks / automation).

Always use a local admin account as well. No issues.
