New registration keys that use an old (Legacy or Vantive) customer account number - even for versions up to 4.40 - can also no longer be generated. The systems that generated and stored those keys have been permanently retired.

I think this means in order to get new keys you must be on plan and on a supported version

Sure glad Sage is not in the car business.

Does that mean that they will have time now to make sure the product keys are correct? 4 out of 5 of the last upgrades I've done were invalid.

I haven't had to upgrade keys in a while but the switch from old to new customer numbering does seem problematic.

This was a win-back from the spring, the new keys were generated in April and they were wrong when I went to install in May. I told the Sage support person I might have to go back to having them verify each install before I go out. I remember the switch from the old number to the new, I would call to verify for each new install.

Something seems fishy. You're telling me you talked to a Sage person in April and then again in May and it was the same person? That has to be a recent record for Sage employment longevity.

I still have Sage validate keys every time. Been bitten twice in the last few months.
