Very interesting. Lots of datto technical details here (same as Eversafe). These IT guys were either full of shit, or clueless, because the whole reason you buy a Datto (Eversafe) solution is to have both on-site and offsite cloud backup. There is no way they could have thought it wasn't copying to an offsite facility. Plus they should be getting daily status emails on the topic.
Also, impressed at their rates. I don't know many generic IT service companies who can get $250/hour in NY, let alone Colorado... Smells like they are paid to keep their mouths shut to me.
