version 4.5 Advanced...California location, Payroll issue. California has split unemployment insurance between UI and ETT (Unemployment Insurance and Employment Training Tax). Does anyone know how to split these in MAS so they show separately on the employer expense summary?

Can't. Combine in the SUI rate field and educate the client how to split for tax payments and eFiling.

Thanks for the reply. Can you educate ME on how to split for tax payments and efiling? Do you simply break it out manually... ie if total in MAS is 6% and ETT is supposed to be .1% then SUI should be 5.9%?

Yes, manually. In CA, the max SUI rate is 6.2%. If the SUI rate is 6.2%, there will be no ETT. Example: if SUI rate is 5.9% and ETT is .1% (it's always this rate), then the combined rate for entry in Tax Table Maintenance SUI is 6.0%. On the Deposit Liability Report, they need to break out the amounts manually by dividing SUI/ETT amount by 6.0 then multiplying by 5.9 and .1 respectively. Also change manually on the eFiling DE9 form. I change the GL Account description to ""Accrued SUI/ETT"".

Just curious as to why the client bothered to install the IRD and tax table update if this change wasn't included.

The IRD is program changes. The TTU is income tax table and other statutory rate changes like Disability Insurance. It does NOT including SUI rates that are company specific.

I realize the SUI is company specific, however, if you navigate to the MAS tax table maintenance and enter ""CA"" there is a field to enter SUI. Why wasn't the ETT field added to this screen. Seems to me that would fall under the ""program change"" category.

I'm guessing because complying with every state is TME. PR is old framework and Sage wants to discontinue it. Only federal mandated changes seem to matter.
