Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our one-on-one calls with Wayne a while back, we talked about a vendor member webinar where we would discuss benefits and timelines with the various vendors, but we haven't set a date for that. Is this still something we want to do? I say yes. When?

That's a yes - and maybe more to get feedback from them about what the most valuable benefits might be. I wonder whether we could gather that info more effectively in a survey or email vs a webinar. I'm afraid that we create a webinar - which I think we did once - and only a portion of the vendor members attend and then of those who attend only one or two speak up.

We can probably gather the information more effectively via email and survey but I think it's better to disseminate what their current benefits in a call whether it's a webinar or whatever

I agree with Robert. They need to know what their current benefits are - SC membership, webinars, etc. I would like them to know specifically about their webinars and let them know they need to contact me to schedule. Robert and I discussed podcasting and for now, i think we need to step back from that one.

Promised benefit = we host the webinar for the vendor member (based on level) Issue: The vendor members have had a lot of problems using our tech day of event / very labor intensive, confusion on VM side about the type of session, very labor intensive to counsel them about what/how to present, amount of effort seems outside scope of original idea of giving them a platform (we can't become their marketing department). Upside: We know exactly how many people attend, very easy for us to promote/gauge success Alternatives: 1. We simply promote by including in a calendar and emailing to our members in the newsletter Issue: we have no idea how many people attend, vendor members can easily claim ""no results"" Upside: we offload all the tech coordination and vendor uses what they are comfortable with 2. We start up a monthly member call where we review any news, vendors get a 10 minute speaking slot Issue: Getting content for these calls monthly, keeping member engaged, potentially time consuming Upside: We know exactly how many people attended, can record them and distribute 3. Podcast - similar to second option above but more pre-recorded Issue: Time consuming to start, technically challenging, coordinating schedules Upside: Is recorded and can be re-used Other ideas: - Create a blog post for the announced vendor member webinar, include in calendar - Shelve webinars with next renewal and focus on live events Any other ideas? This is a high value area for members and vendors and of all the options I think we want to have some way to measure the number of our members who attend or we face the issue of some vendor members claiming nobody came, etc.

These are the only vendor members we owe any type of webinar to: PLATINUM (2 webinars): SWK / Mapadoc ScanForce Software GOLD (1 webinar): JDB Solutions Group Scanco Information Integration Group Websitepipeline BizNet Software Aatrix Payroll Reports and eFiling

Well, ScanForce and WebsitePipeline just held a joint one last week. Does that count for their individual ones? You posted it in the newsletter, I posted in SC. I attended but not sure how many attendees there were since they didn't show them to those attending.

We can ask the vendor members if they are ok doing the webinars a different way (from one of the options that we come up with). I just think it will be a lot easier if we survey them in advance. I've been on a couple conference calls with them and nobody speaks up or people don't show up. If we survey first then have a call to announce the way we are going to deliver that seems like the best option but I'm open to ideas.

    Survey first works.

    Makes sense to me.

  • 11.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 11:07
Are there other options that I have not considered which may be suitable replacements for the webinars?

  • 12.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 11:09
Of the options I listed I think the least time intensive would be a blog post to announce the session - these feed into Socialcast and we can also feed them to Twitter and they appear in search. This unfortunately doesn't allow us to know the number of people who attended as a result of our efforts.

  • 13.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 11:19
We need to capture names on the survey so we know who responded and how.

  • 14.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 11:19
I believe those are the core options. Or at least they're the ones I've come up with so far. There isn't any reason any of the options can't be recorded and posted somewhere podcast, Youtube, etc.).

  • 15.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 11:30
If they do their own webinar, we have no control over whether they are recorded or not.

    True.

I'd make Other a bigger box but otherwise it works for me.

  • 19.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

So the 90 Minds conference call with a ten minute speaking spot would once a year only?

  • 20.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 12:32
Good catch! I missed that in the bottom question.

  • 21.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 12:37
The Platinum now get 2 webinars, Gold one -- so we should probably follow along with that number. I'm concerned that most vendors are just going to click everything and we don't have a definitive idea based on the survey

  • 22.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 12:43
90 Minds member conference call with up to 10 minute speaking spot once a year"" is unclear. It can be read as there will be a call once a year or they get to participate on a monthly call once in a year.

  • 23.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 13:09
    Changed it thx

  • 24.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 13:55
They'd get either one or two a year - based on their membership level.

  • 25.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 13:55
Sorry, i was on a phone call. So, they get a 10 minute speaking spot monthly??

  • 26.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 13:58
Monthly 90 Minds member conference call with up to 10 minute speaking spot."" Sounds like monthly. Do we need to specify the different member levels? Or, ""...with up to 10 minute speaking spot once or twice a year based on memberhip level.

  • 27.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 14:05
I was hoping not to make it too in depth so as not to confuse people but we should make it clear the benefits vary by level.

  • 28.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 14:21
Probably a good idea to only send to Platinum and Gold members since they are the only ones entitled to the benefit of webinars.

  • 29.  RE: Vendor Member Webinar: When a few of us had our on

    Posted 04-13-2015 14:22
You could send a separate one to the silvers as prospective Gold & Platinum members for next year. Not necessarily a suggestion as much as a thought.

I sent this today to all vendor members regardless of level https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1yEn61GiscdsIpAljBHlQsHwP4CxnfwMMX_27t_P8_qM/viewform

Sure. We can split up the results easily enough.

So far there are only three vendor members who responded. I gave them until next Wednesday to reply. Here is the response summary: https://docs.google.com/a/community.90minds.com/spreadsheets/d/1x14Q4zggm3KVYz23tYR-lnu0bctpCzZnvkAQv1LsPOI/edit#gid=1502768899

You'll probably have to prod them a couple of more times if you want them to respond. That seems to be the way of these things.

So are we waiting until after Wednesday to decide how we are going to handle vendor webinars? Joe Bisaha from JDB Solutions wants to do one end of May/early June and they want to know how this is arranged. Good question!! Should I say we can host it for them? Or are we doing it another way?
