  • 1.  Vendor 1099 Information Doesn't Save

    Version 2023 PU1 Premium.  Customer went live last August and is now starting to set up vendors to accumulate 1099 information.  They enter the relevant information for 1099 on tab 2 of Vendor Maintenance, click Accept, then bring up the vendor again and the 1099 information they entered is gone.  It is not saving the information they entered.  Any ideas?

    I checked the permissions.  Logged in a me and I have everything.  The values entered disappeared after clicking Accept and returning to the same vendor.

    Well, this is a bit embarrassing.  @Kevin Moyes You were correct and I somehow missed seeing it wasn't checked when I looked at the administrator role permissions.  I did an upgrade from version 2021 to 2023 a short time before we went live last August and I bet the "Allow.... Editing of highly sensitive 1099 information" was a new security option that I didn't enable.

    It would be nice if the software either didn't display the fields, or had a message that the user doesn't have permission to change the field.  it is a bit odd that the user can change it, click Accept and then the changes don't "stick".

    I have a 2023 Premium client who is also having an issue with the 1099 screen - but in their case, it keeps telling them that the file is in use after someone has made an entry.  Should be two people can be in at once, I would think...?  Looks like something funky going on with this file.

    Yes.  I think it could be something with the data.  I'm going to look at the table(s) later today.

    @Doug Higgs that's strange:  when that box is unchecked in Role Maintenance, it disables those fields in the instances I've seen, which sounds like the right behavior...?

    Is this someone who started out on Sage 100 2024? If not, could it be one of those 1099-NEC  IRDs that are needed for 1099 to function (seemingly) normally?
