v5.2 A credit card deposit of $2000 is entered on a sales order. Customer calls the next day and wants to deposit another $1000 on the order, so the user changes the deposit amount from $2000 to $3000. the credit card then gets charged another $3000 for a total of $5000. Is there any way to accept an additional deposit or modify a deposit amount? Any good workarounds?

Had a customer back when SPS first came out who dropped it after a month because this kind of thing was common for them. There needs to be a SalesOrderDeposit table.

Actually, there is - Sales Order Deposit and Invoice Deposit. Sage just hasn't started implementing using it for more than one at a time, but that is the intent of those files. They actually demo'd additional deposits a couple of years ago at Summit, but apparently something made them yank it back out.

    Well... it seems they're screwed.

They should be able to go into the virtual terminal and alter the charge amount before it actually processes, but that would assume the customer has an extra $2000 on their credit limit and kind of negates the ""integration"" concept...

If the card was already authorized for $2000 when the sales order was entered could the amount on the order be changed? How would you keep track of what was charged on the portal and what was entered on the order?

You would have to change the payment type to one not associated with the payment processing.

In 5.2 hdo you have to set up the credit card in customer maintenance before it can be used on a sales order? Also, user must enter the cardholders address or they can't proceed... Is there any way to simply enter a card number , expiration date, and name to expedite sales order entry for will call orders?

You can add a card in SO Entry - you do not have to enter it in customer maintenance first. You can choose to save it to the customer however.

@ThereseLogeais I don't see how to enter a card during SO entry. I enter a card id, choose a payment type ""VISA"" then the field to enter the card number is grayed out. See attached picture.

Thanks @MarkKotyla that is great to know that enhancement exists.

You're missing the Submit Card button but your panel looks like it is modified. If you click on Submit Card, that is where you enter the card number.

This is a test system ABC Company. That is why there isn't a submit button. I understand now that after clicking submit the credit card number can be entered.

Do you know if address information is always required? Is there a way to turn this off? I called Sage and they are clueless. I should probably call SPS. SPS may know more.

I thought there was a spot in set up to validate address and the CVV code. Look under Payment type maintenance in AR set up

I don't see anything in payment type maintenance.

@JeffSchwenk - does that actually turn verification on/off, or just whether to display the results to the user?
