    v5.1 advanced - IT person re-installed Sage 100 on one of the workstations. Now, when the user opens dialog box that offers a drop-down for a selection, that drop-down shows and immediately closes. Has any one seen this?

    IT person installed the server piece on the workstation? So the workstation thinks there are two servers? Can you run the application server and remove the second instance (Select Server)?

    Maybe check the \MAS90\Launcher folder for multiple locations?

    No. IT person uninstalled and the re-installed workstation setup. The computer had a virus and he ran some cleaning utilities, uninstalled Sage 100, then re-installed it. Now the fields with drop down selections don't work.

    I would reinstall it myself. Those darn IT people usually mess things up.

    Of course it is cheaper if the IT person installs it :-) ..... until they screw it up and it takes me twice as long to fix it. It reminds me of the companies that want me to train one person and that one person is going to train all of the other employees. They think they are saving money on training. The one person only retains 70% of what I taught them. They train the others and the others retain 70% of the 70% so they only know 49%. Then we go live and the user errors and phone calls begin. It costs them twice as much as it would had we spent adequate time training everyone.

    Penny wise, tons foolish. Happens WAY too frequently. But I can understand since IT people know it all.....
