V4.50.5 unable to print Period/Year End reports in payroll. IT goes through the motions like it is printing, but nothing ever shows up in the print queue or prints out to the printer. Results are the same from any machine and any printer (even PDF). Attempted to reinstall the IRD thinking it may have had something to do with it and get a ""Post Initilization Failed"" message (No other info) . Clicking ok takes us to the ""finish"" screen. Going into the activity log shows it as being installed.... Any thoughts?

UAC controls are off and we ran as admin

Often when printing fails a pvx task hangs. I would make sure there are no hung Pvx tasks. I would check both workstations and server. I would think the server should be restarted.

Thanks Ron, we tried that. Checked the server for pvx's, rebooted workstation, rebooted server, and still unable to print.

Unable to preview also?

Can you print/preview any of these reports if you don't go through period end?

Preview is greyed out in P/R reports... I think that is standard though?

I typed 'Post Initialization failed' into the new knowledgebase nothing returned. I typed it into the old knowledgebase and I got 100 hits.

The answer to your question is yes, they did print individually... which lead me to wonder if it was paperless office and indeed it was. Paperless office was Autoprinting PDF and nor pulling up the preview. So that problem is solved, but we still run into the IRD issue... TTU2014Q1 is having the same problem (ran it out of curiosity).

Does the error occur both from the server and a workstation. I would try both.

Happens from both, yes. :( One solution down, 99 more to go. I tried running pvxcom.exe from the server and still nada... 99 solutions from sage on the wall, 99 solutions from sage. Take one down and....
