  • 1.  v2022 PU 1 BOM Component description does not match CI Item Description

    Interesting issue - The BOM Component description in BOM maintenance does not match the CI Item description.  (below screenshot).  There is no description in the BM_BillDetail table field.  The item description is less than 30 characters so there is no extended description table record.  Verified in BOM setup that the description synch flag was YES.  Rebuilt the BOM sort files for good measure.

    Any thoughts as to where else to look?

    That component is a bill where you CAN change the description. Just a thought.

    Bingo Therese!!!  The item has a BOM of its own.  The program pulls the BOM description.  Verified by editing the BOM description 1 field, then edited the BOM detailing the subcomponent BOM's.  Description changed.  Mystery solved.   

    The description synch option in BOM setup remains a puzzle (why it works as designed) and I am still puzzled why BM rewrite to framework didn't combine the two description fields with an extended description field functionality.  Another wasted opportunity to take module to a higher level.
