Client started to use Avalara AvaTax this month. they have some sales orders where they want to add an "exemption" on the fly; in Sales Order Invoice Data Entry; for that particular invoice. They get a message "Sales tax modifications manually performed will not be posted to AvaTax" with an "ok" button. This does properly reduce the tax to 0.00 (as they want). They checked in the Avalara Portal and all looks OK. Is there a downside to them doing this process? The alternative would be to set up a Ship To Address and Hard Code the Exemption into that Ship To Address before creating the sales order.
