  • 1.  v2020 ADV - slower response since migration from v2017

    Migrated client two weeks ago to v2020 ADV.  Upgrade also involved a server upgrade to WIN Server 2019 Datacenter (two processors allocated).  Since the upgrade, users have all experienced a remarked slowness of response times.  Response was already slow due to the WFH environment.  I have not ruled out AV issues on the new server yet.  Long term, the plan is to move everyone to Remote app to a Citrix server.  CSODBC is enable for users.  I stopped/started that service but no one noticed any improvement.

    Any tweak secrets are appreciated.

    When does the delay happen?  Logging in?  Opening new tasks?  Printing?  Opening lookup lists?  Scrolling through records?
    Is it still bad if you do these things directly on the Sage server?  In MAS90 mode?

    I had a customer go from 2016 to 2019 and have the same complaint.  They took it back to Windows 2012 instead of Windows 2016, ad that helped a bit, but did not solve the problem.  We have long running case with Ronnie Aspe but have not gotten any results yet.

    While I don't have the details of the changes made, my last 2017 to 2020 Advanced had same complaint.  Outside IT made the indicated AV changes which helped a bit, but then said:  
    I dug deeper into the AV logs and found a couple of processes and files that the AV was inspecting that were not among the ones listed in the original exception list I built with Nancy a while back. I ended up exempting every directory, path, and process in the parent folder for Sage on the server.

    Haven't had a complaint since.
