v2017 - Need some ideas to pitch to end user looking for a way to ensure that a part is inspected upon receipt. Mainly using IM and PO for this process. They are looking for a way to alert receiving person that a particular item needs to be pulled aside for inspection. I have thought about a IM memo on the part to pop up during ROG, an IM UDF that will trigger some inspection verbiage on the ROG paperwork. Are there others? Client doesn't want to spend money on Sage alerts nor receive the item to a work order inspection step. Thanks in advance.

I've created a ""Requires Inspection"" checkbox UDF in CI_Item, and mapped it thru PO module. You can then edit ROG Register to display verbiage, or use a script to trigger a message during ROG entry.

Could they create a ""inspection"" warehouse and put items that need to be inspected in that warehouse? Users could manually put that as the receiving warehouse, or use a script triggered on the checkbox like @MarkKotyla mentions. That would allow for an easy report of all items in that warehouse as needing to be inspected. once inspected do a transfer to the main warehouse. Since the items are not in the main warehouse until after they are inspected they can't be sold or issued.

Slap a sticker of some sort on it. No sticker = not inspected yet. Can't get a less expensive solution than that.

Agree, a quick visual is often the best cue for a busy warehouse. Like @DavidOverholt idea, I've used a separate warehouse code and then assigned this as the item's default warehouse code. As default, easy to get a list whether in IM or PO of items that need inspection. It's also important like @WayneSchulz mentioned for the warehouse to have a visual cue, this is often a staging area taped off on the whse floor. If it's in the 'zone' it's not inspected.

Not looking for the item in the warehouse that needs inspected. I am looking at the Sage ROG (display or paperwork) to indicate to the person receiving it that a needs an inspection sticker slapped on.

UDF in item maintenance or use one of the categories, then modify the ROG report in Crystal to include the ""inspection"" field.
