V2016, Advanced. Thinking this answer is no. Customer would like to use Kits but have them explode and basically become Items with quantity and pricing. Just wants the Kit for grouping items together. Thinking it can't be done without an enhancement (SO-1068) but wanted to check to see if anyone had any ideas?

Just to expand on this - I had a customer want to do this and the gotcha without a mod is that when you explode the kit Sage only tracks the sales of the top level Kit item. Sage actually explains that they do this to avoid double counting sales. If a customer wants to track sales of the components then they use an enhancement to convert kit components to items. From there Sage tracks sales down to the component level. I have a customer using Kits extensively and they explode the components but we price based on the top level kit selling price. I've found it important to identify how the customer wants to track sales because it's 50/50 as to whether they expect to have sales reports on components.
