v2016 Adv with Avalara and Sage CRM. Avalara wants to see 2 character Country Codes for tax calculation. Sage Country Code Setup is 3 characters and has an 'Alternative' field with 2 characters (already populated). What do customers do here? Do I need to create 2 character Country Codes and Export/Import the new ones to replace the field in Customers/Ship Tos? My CRM consultant thinks the integration with CRM will be broken if I replace the S100 Country Codes with 2 character codes. Avalara didn't offer a setting to use the Alternative Country Code field. I can't be the first to come across this?

What happens with three character country codes? Does Avalara not calculate correctly? We've never had to use two-character country codes with CRM integrations.

We have the same issue at a 2015 customer with no viable work around that I am aware of after one of our people talked to Avalara. The client rarely ships internationally and they don't collect any tax so they change the tax schedule to NONTAX on the order and bypass Avatax.

@BernieLehman I wonder if the sale hits the Avalara Dashboard (guessing not but will test). @ThereseLogeais: When I tested yesterday, both the 2 and 3 character country codes gave me a 'Country Code Unsupported' which is different than user was getting. User received 'Country Code Unknown' for a 3 character DEU (Germany) code. So I do need to verify exactly what is going on. The Ship To Address takes a 2 or 3 character code, but it's when pushing the @ Avalara button that I received the message.
