v2015 Work Order. Client has FINALLY started using this module. Long story.... They want to issue a WO for 20 units, but they are building 5 at a time. And they are only adding material and labor for the 5 items. I know back in the day, there was a costing issue when partially completing the WO. Is this still an issue? What do I recommend? Issue 4 WO's? Don't complete until they are totally done? Problem is that they will be shipping 5 items once they are completed. TIA

It depends on what their cost completion method is set to in WO options. How is it set?

Doesn't it also depend on the costing method used for finished goods? If standard, you may get some swings in your production cost variance account but your gross profit inventory valuation should be ok. If something other than standard, @ThereseLogeais is dead on.

Good point @ShawnSlavin about standard costing.

Went with the split WO recommendation for many reasons, the least of which that their mfg ""system"" is so out of whack that no matter which cost completion is picked, it won't be accurate but I am hoping that the WO system will at least be 50% better than what they are doing right now..... which isn't a stretch..
