Sage 100

v2015 Premium client moving from Sage 100 in a hosted environment and wants to keep current Sage on workstation for historical purposes. Though not supported, has anyone had a similar situation and know if they can use SQL Express or if they will be required to purchase full SQL. TIA.

SQL Express works. Usually there are performance reasons not to use it, but if its just for archival purposes, it'll work great.
