v2014 Standard - IM maintenance. Trying to change product type from Kit to Finished good. Field is grayed out. BOM item is marked as a kit. Any thoughts on why it is grayed out. There are only two on hand, 0 on SO/PO. Thinking about muscling it via DFDM... TIA

Delete the BOM.

Or change it to a non-kit bill.

And you still may have to muscle it. I've run into them that don't let you change it for no good reason.

BOM was already set as a standard BOM (my bad) so I changed it to a kit, saved it, then changed it back to standard. No progress. It is only three lines so I may try to delete and re add. I think the simplest route at this point is to wupp up on CI_item with a little muscle.

I had to muscle it via DFDM last time. it seems like once it is setup and used there is no front end way to change it. You likely need to delete and start over... or ""muscle it

If Product Type is Kit and you see item in BM_BillHeader (or in IM_SalesKitHeader), it doesn't care about the Bill Type (Std / Kit / whatever). It just disables Product Type field at that point. So you have to Venice Beach it by making the record in BM_BillHeader ""temporary invisible"" to Inventory Item Maintenance.
