v2014 PU3.. Yesterday, it was brought to my attention that some invoices weren't visible in customer maintenance, invoices. For example, a large account, 10-RAS8238 has invoices going back several years There are no invoices visible on this account, but they've shipped to them this year (and they've been a customer for years). The data is available through invoice history inquiry. Many other accounts have similar problems. AR setup, retain paid invoices is set for 999 and they haven't closed AR for 5 years. I scoured the LM event log and nothing unusual. Received an email from the owner stating that now everything is back! he is wondering if I did anything to get the transaction/payment history back... No! WTF????? if this were a locked file from virus scan or backup I would think there would be a ""File in use"" or ""File Locked"" message. Any ideas how data can disappear and mysteriously re-appear?

In the vein of, ""The simplest solution is probably right,"" it seems to me that when the files are large, ergo, they have a lot of records, the screens can take quite a while to refresh. As impatient as I am, I've caught myself wondering where my data went. I wouldn't be much surprised if he just needed to wait a bit longer.

@LouWagner That is a good guess, but I looked yesterday and I looked again today. They were there instantaneously today. It could be there was some process running yesterday that slowed the system, but there are 300,000 invoices in invoice history inquiry and they displayed OK yesterday.

Dang. That's just plain weird. I'm gonna start drinking heavily.
