v2013 Standard install. Client coming from v4.3.23 and they are using fixed assets on the MAS menu. Weren't there special steps to complete at one time? In looking at the migration check lists, there is NO references to Sage Fixed assets (or what ever it is called now..... Am I missing something?

If they were using fixed assets in v4.3 then you will need to download and upgrade the fixed asset software also. If the FAS version is not compatible with the SAGE 100 ERP version then it won't launch from the SAGE 100 ERP menu. The FAS versions can be downloaded from the Sage Partner Portal.

Use the steps outlined in V4.4? This is an orphan client upgrade and I haven't done a fixed asset upgrade as part of MAS prior to this one. What is worse is that the v2013 install key is missing the fixed asset component so Fixed Assets don't even appear on the MAS menu..............

You're screwed. Call Sage customer care. What a PITA.

The fixed asset upgrade is pretty easy. just follow the install doc after you decompress the download. Getting the Fixed Asset on the menu seems like a bad unlocking key.

Jeff sorry for the delay - I am not sure if this is what you are asking for. I had a customer who was on the Sage ""Freebie"" FA and we upgraded to the full version (aka more money). These are the steps I followed. Even if it's not right on point some aspects might be helpful. https://www.evernote.com/shard/s1/sh/3d8db4f2-c4c0-4bb2-b579-9ecc08363d91/b5b71e7f2b0d7b06204e84871fbc53d8

I guess I am missing something. When does the Fixed Asset option appear on the MAS menu? During the initial install of MAS or do you have to download Fixed assets separately, install it and then the menu option appears on the MAS menu. No one at Sage seems to know the answer? Is it part of the install keys or not?

I don't know either as I've always run it standalone outside Sage.

It appears that the keys are hosed as there IS fixed asset install option. It is not active for this set of keys....

The fixed asset option appears on the MAS menu because it allows the user to launch a standalone product (FAS Fixed Assets) from within MAS. There are separate unlocking keys for the FAS software portion. It also provides the integration between the fixed asset software that resides outside the standard Sage 100 ERP folder structure and the Sage 100 ERP accounts payable and purchase order modules. For example, you can set up an asset template in fixed assets called DESK. During AP data entry, you can specify the DESK template and when the invoice register is updated, the asset desk will be set up in the fixed assets software.

Its a 2 part install. The Fixed Assets module should install as part of the standard MAS install when you enter the unlock keys. After MAS is installed and you see Fixed Assets on the menu, you then have to download and install FAS Fixed Assets software that can run independently or integrated with MAS. If you have Fixed Assets on the MAS menu you can install the ""other"" FAS software and have an integration.

Thanks. What I thought. The Fixed Assets menu is not appearing after the install so the keys must be hosed.....

Now we are done in the mud wrestling who can answer why the Fixed Asset link component was left out of the v2013 license.
