  • 1.  Using last cost with Job Cost material issues

    I have a customer asking why their inventory items are coming across as average cost when they want the cost to be last cost.


    I believe job cost uses the inventory item cost method to transfer the cost

    Is this correct and if so any way to get the issue to use last cost?

    What's the valuation method?  LIFO should use last cost.

    I'm presuming that they are using average cost but I'm still trying to get more detail. So far as I can tell if you do a material issue to a job from inventory then the cost used is based on the item's valuation. If there's another way to get this to use last cost then that's what I'm looking for ( don't see any way but the customer would like to find a way ).

    Customer is trying to shoot themselves in the foot how?  Taking it out of inventory at one cost and putting it on the job at another?
