    Hi
Is there any documentation (current) indicating turning off UAC is best practice or does nobody bother to turn it off.  I just had an IT person show his claws as he refuses to turn it off and so I mentioned that we can move forward with it on but if problems arose and turning it off and a reinstall of program files was warranted that it would be out of scope and billable (upgrade is a Fixed Fee Upgrade underpriced to begin with by a coworker!)
IT is calling it a threat and wants documentation to indicate turning it off is called for.  He then references Sage UK.
Now I really think it's been underpriced!

IT people, gotta love them.  It is also a challenge to get them to allow you to install with full admin rights.  I don't have any documentation handy.  Have you looked at the install guides?  I usually seek a compromise where they start the GTA session with full rights, allow me to do the server install, then drop the session.  But you are right, tremendous time suck downstream trying to troubleshoot an issue when if only they would have humored you in the first place.

In addition to the install guides, look in the Sage KB.
We always disable UAC for the server software install and recommend it for workstations if there are any problems.  It doesn't need to be off long term, just during the install.

I love these IT standoffs. I’d search the entire Sage 100 on for UAC then click to sort results by newest first.

When presented with unreasonable IT I will frequently book a Sage appointment right away and let them get what they perceive to be the official word from Sage. Usually unreasonable IT will insist on this to some degree because “certainly everyone does/doesn’t have to do what you’re recommending”.

I’ve run into similar issues with user rights and demands that I tell them exactly what rights to set. Yeah, these are documented. In some 5+ year old upgrade guide where Sage just keeps copying forward the requirements.
