USB Credit Card chip readers? Anyone have a solutions for this? SPS still doesn't have one available, 2 years past the requirement. Anyone find a 3rd party that works?

Might try American Payment Solutions. I doubt there will be one though. I am thinking the Sage 100 programs needs to be tweaked some how. I am just happy that they can use a swipe reader at all.

Thanks! Careful with them still using the swipe reader though, because if they get a chargeback & its not using a chip reader, they will deny any claim, even with a signed sales slip. That is what I am running into now. They have to use a manual machine with the reader, or key in the data & pay the higher rate. Else, they are chancing every swipe. Thanks for staying up to date, Sage!

(If anyone finds a working solution for chip / PIN over a terminal server connection, we have a client who is eager to get that in place!)

@DanaYoung interesting. So I can attempt to challenge all my ""non chip reader"" swipes?

@MadelineStefanou that's what I was thinking! Every time I shop now, if they don't have a working chip reader for my chip card I should be able to get it free via charge-back! Haha, lovely, isn't it?

Here is what I received as my answer from my SPS sales rep ""There is a USB EMV card reader that is currently being tested. Development wise all is done, but we are waiting for QA to perform unit testing on some backend elements related to decryption as well as some functional testing on the front end applications. Development and QA have a meeting this week to go over the QA test cases. It's fair to estimate a December release for this.

There is a Magtek model out there that allows for this, but not sure how to get it configured to work for SPS. Not sure if this is the model being tested by SPS or not either. https://www.magtek.com/product/edynamo

They had us testing an Ingenico IPP320 a couple years ago (for the customer who wants something in their stores accessing Sage 100 over a Terminal connection). Presumably it might work if you were running the Sage client directly on the local workstation where the device was plugged in.

Those look like stand-alone terminals? Are they? We have ICT220 machines running at locations over TS, but they don't connect to Sage 100.

I believe it depends on whether Sage Exchange recognizes the devices, and we only tested over a TS connection (...brick wall no-go).

I heard last week at Chicago Sessions that this is on the road map for this fall.

That would be nice. 3 years past the requirement...
