Upgraded client to EES 1.4 SU6 JO R2 Nanook (with Avatax) and am running into a couple of problems: The first is in ALE in WT Printing. When selected we get the following error: ""Lookup is corrupt (Lookup JT7, Error #20 Syntax error, at line 1060)"". They can type in the WT number and it will print, but the lookup is failing. Called Synergistic and they said to do the following: ""Remove all the records with a level of B or Y for JT7 from the SY1Q01, SY1Q02, SY1Q03, SY1Q04 files. This will remove any custom lookups they have for JT7 and go back to the standard lookup. So they will need to recreate their custom lookups."" Did that and it did not work. The second problem is in SO/Quote History Inquiry. When you go into the task, enter a Sales Order number and look at Lines everything appears to be fine. That is until you click OK. Then the Lines fill with all sorts of SO data. Appreciate any help with either issue.

On the ALE, I would say do what they suggested again but this time follow it up with Custom Office / Utilities / Update Panels for that screen. (On the lookup control itself there is a user tag JobOps probably changed (very normal to do that) and presumably that change would need to get pushed to down from the stock JT screen to the Customizered JT screens). On the 2nd issue, is the data in the Lines actually getting changed or is it the screen alone getting filled with junk data (maybe look via DFDM). If the latter, see if the very 1st order in Order History Header or Detail has a blank or invalid records.

Thanks Alnoor...will give the ALE a try. On the second issue the data isn't changed, just a bunch of garbage fills the lines window. Will check for errant data.

Did you install the patches in order and the sage hot fixes and I think there is a job ops hot fix out there also or need to request and then do the panels update. I would delete the custom ALE and recreate also. I even sometimes recreate the sales order and work ticket modifications. I have seen the file size shrink from 5 megs to 300K with a new fresh sceen and the users report a speed increase. Good Luck!

Johnny, hadn't heard about a hot fix for either of this situations, but will check it out. I believe the installation was done in the proper order, but the Reseller did some and I did the JO. But, I will confirm with the Reseller before moving too far along. And I will check with Synergistic about the hot fix for panels. Thanks.

Re: the SO/Quote History Inquiry issue, this seems like the same issue: http://community.sagemas.com/t5/Distribution-Manufacturing-and/Sales-order-quote-history-inquiry/m-p/67709#M7824

Yes, Synergistic knows it's their issue. Just no answer and so I thought I'd ask our brain trust - great 90Minds!

Ah sounds like some debug code is being written to the screen they forgot to remove .. should be easy fix but too bad they didn't catch that.

@Deb Thomas, I have a record of two issues around the blank lookups: (1) LM4059T sage hot fix and then JobOps has one for that as well. (2) there was also a reactivate.m4p they sent me. Each one to be followed by running the custom office update utilities.

Phil, that's related to the SO Ship To Address thing. If the client installs 4.4 SU6 with fixes and JO R2 Nanook, those fixes are included.

Are you referring to Nanook of the North? If so, I recommend to avoid the yellow snow! And head over to St Alfonzo's pancake breakfast.

John, you are a nut! Alnoor et all, the suggestions for both issues were tried to no effect. Any other suggestions?

@Deb, try living with the guy..... You have to admit, though, that's the strangest sounding error message ever!

Or product update, rather. Maybe this 5:00 treadmill time isn't going to work after all....!

Yeah, I gave some out of date solutions because they were for R2v2 not Nanook which is R2v3. However, Nanook was an improvement over the R2v1 and R2v2 debacle where a new update was given the EXACT SAME FILE NAME as the defective one.

I think they are getting enough feedback Phil that version numbering needs to be clearer...it's even confusing for the Support staff. We are connecting this morning to see if Synergistic can figure this out. Appreciate all the support...but keep these in mind when you are upgrading JO clients. Will let you know if we find a solution. @AmyShaver I can only imagine! ;)

@DebThomas does the lookup work if you were to enable escape trapping (File / Run / *ESC / Yes)

Hi Everyone. Ok, so there is a hot fix for the WT Printing ALE issue. However, it had been taken down from the website because ""it had been included in Nanook"". Sigh. Not so much. You figured it out @PhilMcIntosh ! And as for the other problem in SO/Quote History Inquiry, it is related to bad data in the SO History Detail file. Records without a SO number. However, you have to look at the old data file (hopefully they've been saved as 4.3) to determine if they are valid Quotes or SOs that were ""blanked"" out during conversion.

I have a client that just upgraded from 4.30 to 4.40 with JOB-OPS R3 (not Astro) that is seeing the ALE issue in Time Tracker. Same message that Deb posted above.

Although Deb said that deleting the Y records from SY1Q files didn't work, that actually worked for me.

Glad it worked for you Dawn. Support actually connected to confirm ""I did it right""...I did. Shortly after that they sent the program fix.
