Upgraded client from MAS90 4.2 to 4.5. In 4.20 they were able to use the 'export/email' function (in the printer dropdowns) and choose PDF & MAPI for a destination. In 4.20 It then gave you box to enter an email address or you could use the 'address' lookup and connect to contacts in Outlook. Type a message in the box and click send. It went to the Outbox of Outlook and was sent. In 4.50 I get all the same prompts but when I hit send, I first get a 'allow/deny' so I clicked Allow but then get an error ""Unable to Export. Failed to export the report"". I tried the destination of Exchange too and it goes to the folder I designate but can't open it to enter an email address, it just opens the PDF. I realize they could just export to PDF & applciation as the destination and then email as an attachment but they want the same functionality they had in 4.20. If the email function doesn't work then Sage should have rename the printer function to just 'export'! Ideas?

Have seen variations on this. This is a Crystal issue, you can ""google"" the issue. Not sure if there is a fix.

Do you have Designer installed on workstation? Does this happen on all workstation?

Haven't even gone to customer's side yet, as I can duplicate the whole thing on my local installs. Crystal is installed on my workstation.

Known #bug. We moved a client from 4.4 to 4.5 and they found this too. Logged a bug report with Sage, and they were able to duplicate it. Fix is forthcoming ""in a future release"" or something like that.

Maybe I'm thinking of something else but it seems like this has been kicking around a few versions?

I didn't go forward from 4.20 to see if it worked in 430 or 440, but it does work well in 420 and broken in 450.

I just had this issue with a customer upgrading from 4.10 to 4.50. We found that if you preview first, then the MAPI export works just fine.

@WayneSchulz: I used to see this on Windows 7 machines with version 4.4. @NancyHanson: our workaround was to preview the report/order/invoice and then email from there. It works just fine from the preview window.

Aaron, do you have a KB article number for this?

#Atlas is running sloooooowly.... May be a while before I find it.

PER 98846, if I'm readying the notes log correctly. Don't ask me how to find that in the KB, though. I still feel lost in #atlas.

The above is a link to the legacy KB which I'm sure isn't updated regularly anymore but is useful in a pinch.

The preview and export to MAPI option worked. Hopefully she can live with that option!. Thanks everyone for the quick responses.
