  • 1.  Upgrade involving PR... things to watch for?

    Posted 09-20-2022 15:37
I'm doing an upgrade on Friday, and it involves a system that has PR, which is unique for us so I'm wondering if there are any extras I need to watch out for?
    From 2020 Premium (PR 2.21).
To 2022 Premium (PR ...whatever the latest version is... 2.22.3?)
There's DSD and APS too, which I know how to deal with, but PR is a complete mystery to me.
Any tips / guidance would be appreciated.

    Nothing?
The documented steps seem fairly straight forward, but it would be nice to hear from someone who works with PR more than we do.

The payroll is a separate download and install.

Other than that I just run the payroll tax update and cannot recall anything extra I had to do.
I just did one about a week ago which I think was 2020 to 2022 as well.

Oh, the client is already running the new P/R (I missed that).  Then Upgrading is pretty straight-forward, not much to do really except install the new P/R and any hot fixes.  But also re-point the Dir Dep path to new location if applicable.

    Thanks Brett (and Wayne).
Same Sage server, so the direct deposit path won't be changing.
Software install done last night and I was pleasantly surprised at how the installer prompted for version, then for path.  Pre-req's included .NET 4.8 (with server reboot) but I was ready for that possibility.
*fingers crossed for a smooth day tomorrow*
