I'm in the midst of a payroll update to 2.20.

The Sage100Payroll2.20.0.exe can be run and it automatically installs to the correct path

The Sage100Payroll2.20.0ProgramFixPR6016T.exe can be run and it automatically installs to the correct path

The Sage100Payroll2.20.0ProgramFixPR6017T.exe can be run and it automatically installs to the correct path

The Sage100EndOfYearIRD2019.EXE has to be unzipped to a folder
    - From the folder, you then have to run Sage 100 End of Year IRD2019.exe
    - The IRD doesn't know where Sage is installed ( unlike the other 3 fixes ) and you have to point to the \MAS90 folder manually

Not a huge deal - but why can't all of these updates be self-installable - why is the IRD still a multi-step manual process. Why even zip/compress the IRD - most people have fast downloads and the file size savings isn't material.

Even better, the year-end updates should be one bundle.

There can be a screen to check off which parts You want to install or not install.

Why make users hunt down and download updates/hot-fixes that needs to be installed when it can be one self-install dashboard?

Isn’t this the type of thing a great SaaS company would aspire to ?

I’m also not a fan of workstation sync.

Great concept on someone’s whiteboard during a retreat.

Bad user experience - especially if you have 20-30 users and you’re forced to explain ( and ensure they have proper rights ) what is happening to all of them due to the need to install an update which only impacts Payroll or Accounts Payable ( I’m not sure if the IRD 2019 or Payroll 2.2 forces the workstation sync ).

We are still installing these updates with methods that have minimally changed since the year 2000.

In last month's webinar, one of the presenters said they were changing where the folders were located (program data?) so that rights would not be such an issue.  Maybe someone else could elaborate on this.

I agree with the pathing.  Installer software should be smarter.

I wish they would display on the installed module listing whether the IRD's have been installed or not.  Looks like they figured out how to do it with PR hotfixes.

And do we really need the 2017 PR tax awareness?
