Updated a customer over the weekend from Sage 100 Advanced V4.50 to V2015. I learned today that they have set up some tables in Microsoft Access that connect to Sage 100 via ODBC. The tables in Access still point to V4.50 and not V2015. I know how to correct this in Excel but I don't use Access much. How do we go about making these changes in Access? If they set up a new table it points to V2015.

Are they using pass through query tables or linked tables?

    They are using linked tables

On the External Data tab select Linked Table Manager. Select the tables that you'd like to re-link and select ""Always Prompt for a New Location

I am not a fan of linked tables - just not dynamic enough. If you are going to use Access, PTQ's work very well for me (you do have to update the links) but you don't have to update the tables every time you add a UDF.

Thanks for the information. I wasn't aware they were using Access until today. Not sure what they are using it for or why they are using it. The one we went through today was an Access Query that was then linked to Excel so they could use Excel to produce the report they wanted. Not sure that Access is doing much for them.

Actually, if you are using multiple table (more than two), Access is much better for linking tables.
