    Has anyone seen this before?

When searching Item Transaction History, a lot controlled component item shows $68, 69, 70 over time with no fluctuations in unit cost.   Then, all of a sudden the item cost shows significantly higher $330 when this component is consumed on a "BI" transaction via production entry.

Any theories, educated guesses as to how the $70 item was issued at $330?

Have you checked the where used report?  Is the component also the parent in a sub-assembly / indentet bill?

Interesting thoughts and very helpful so thank you. The issue in this case I believe is a $0 cost quantity adjustment made to the component bringing the qty on hand to zero (with cost extension still showing), followed by a disassembly of the parent which put 9 units of the component back into stock at the wrong cost, then out went the part at that cost.
