  • 1.  Unable to update G/L transactions while another update

    I have checked all the usual suspects.  No one else is updating, I can find now orphaned providex processes.  I do seem to recall that there is something that is checked in a file somewhere when a DTR is initiated, but for the life of me I cannot remember where it is.  Can anyone refresh my tired old brain?  Sage 100 2016 Advanced

    When you say you checked all the usual suspects, did that include someone running a GL Report like the GL Trial Balance or Financial Statements.  It has been a long time since I have seen that cause the message, but I know I used to see it in older versions. I hope that Sage has fixed that at some point, but I don't know for sure. I never understood why running a report would lock files and stop an update.

     

     

    Second thought is to get all users out and rename the file SY_LockFileInfo.m4t that tracks in detail what files/records users have locked. After renaming it, as soon as someone opens a task in Sage it will get recreated.

    A server reboot solves many ills..................  Also 2016?????  Time for an upgrade to the latest and greatest release to take advantages of all the new features....
