  • 1.  Unable to reinstall Sage 100 2024

    This has been the install from h***.  Lots and lots of issues.

    Been trying to install Sage 100 2024 standard.  After some problems I did an uninstall to try to start over.   Eventually ended up deleting what remained of the 2024 \ mas90 folder.

    Now I'm trying to reinstall and even though there is no evidence of Sage 100 on the server, the server is prompting me to enter the administrator password and eventually it can't find the pvx.com file.

    So clearly there is some place that is thinking that the Sage 100 is still installed.  Even hunted through the registry and couldn't find anything.

    Thoughts?

    Tom I've had this error on a Premium system after a failed install and migration. What had worked to get around the error was to uninstall Sage 100 from Control Panel / Programs and Features, then remove the \mas90 folder remnants that did not remove itself via the Uninstall, and then finally start the reinstall. So in your case it sounds like you deleted your \mas90 folder with File Explorer and hopefully if still in the Recycle Bin, restore it from there so the 2024 \mas90 folder is back in place, in whatever state it is, and then do the Uninstall from Programs and Features and go from there.

    you might try using the Microsoft Uninstall Tool.  I use this when nothing else works.

    Crazier by the minute. 

    After talking with Sage tech support I got the install to work although we don't know that we did anything.  It came up with the add module/reinstall/uninstall prompt and I told it to reinstall.  Strangely enough it reinstalled to the workstation???  Looked at the server and it wasn't there, but I could run it.  After figuring out that it went to the workstation,  I copied all the files back to the server and I seem to be OK.

    Since I've been having to remote to a workstation and then RDP to the server,  I suppose it is possible that I might have installed to the wrong place somehow.  Too many open windows.

    On to migrating data and hopefully no more crazy issues.
