A customer on 2018 Advance is suddenly having multiple staff experience issues printing PDF forms for electronic delivery.

Their IT department says they are going into form designer and having to set the page size from an odd size to 8.5 x 11.

My hunch is that it's either a permissions issue on their printer(s) and/or one or more "invalid" printers is causing a label printer to become the default and the paper size in the form is being reset to an off size.

I'm pretty sure that I have seen this - but not for a LONG time.

Anyone know what may be at play here?

The first time it happened we "fixed" it by setting a working default printer.

IT is running around with their hair on fire insisting someone had to have gone in and messed with the designer....

I would change the page setup in Crystal for the form.  File, Page Setup, Printer Options, Check the box for "No Printer".  File, Page Setup, Page Options, Check the box for "Disassociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size.

Paperless uses the default printer for page size.  We see this error all the time after someone installs a label printer (which gets automatically set as the default). Windows 11 automatic default printer management is a nightmare... always disable that.

You shouldn't have to edit the report, but if you do, use the "No Printer" setting mentioned by Doug.

    Edit:

Oh, and the "odd size" page setting when editing a report is further evidence of a bad page size on the Windows default printer.

Have them fix the report once again but before saving in Page Setup check the NO Printer and Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size check boxes and see if that helps.  If they've already done that, then... bummer.

Thanks, these all make sense. The customer questions why this is suddenly happening after they've used Sage for 15+ years. I also noticed many unavailable and/or offline printers, which makes me suspicious. They asked me to go into each form and make the change. I'll give them two options - one page of DIY instructions or a quote for $.
