The problem we kept running into was the USB devices (IPP320?) not being recognized in the terminal session. All efforts at a COM port redirects failed to work. I looked at remote USB mapping (with encryption), but the setup was really complex and we didn't even take that to the testing stage since it is not something we'd want to recommend (without the endorsement of the CC processor).

Small difference - None of the supermarkets that I've worked with are using terminal services - they are usually client/server or they use Linux. They are not using Microsoft or Citrix terminal services, and BOTH of those mess with chip readers. This doesn't mean we are not working to resolve this issue, but it is a lot harder than it appears.
Chip readers work great with Sage Advanced or Premium, or Sage 100 Standard running directly on the workstation where there isn't a OS layer screwing with it.
But hey, if it was easy, everyone would be doing it, yes?

I asked Patty about chip/pin over RDS at MOTM a couple years ago. We worked with SPS a couple years before that to try and get it to work for a specific customer, with no success.
(I've been tapping to pay for groceries for more than a decade... we in Canada have adopted chip cards loooooong ago, and it will be nice if Sage can catch up).

ASI tech support connected yesterday and ultimately had to add a record to one of the enhancement tables which allowed the copy to go through. Yea!
Also bent his ear about not being able to use a chip reader remotely (via a RDS connection). This inability results in more effort for the client to process the card. Client does NOT want to key the card number into Sage as that is slow AND they are then liable for any fraud rejections. Client will be running about 2K a month in merchant fees through this store. Chip readers work at their main (non remote) store (nearly 4K in monthly merchant fees) which can use the APS interface. From an end user perspective, it makes no sense. Just called Patty Benitez and bent her ear as well. Maybe as it is with Sage, if you complain to the sales department, the money will be found for the fix... Hard to believe that I have the only client using RDS to connect with Sage and process CC's
So as it stands now (per APS), client options are 1) Key the number into Sage and incur higher fees and assume liability for charge backs, 2) Use a chip reader that does not interface with Sage or 3) Use an APS certified swipe reader which WILL interface with Sage but incur higher merchant fees and be liable for fraud chargebacks......

I've had issues copying companies when there are non- standard folders in the data folders. Like a "direct deposit" folder in PRXXX.
