  • 1.  UDF is Added to SO Detail but Doesn't Display on the Screen

    Create a SO Detail UDF, add it to the panel and save it, but it doesn't display when we go into SO Entry.  Have tried deleting and re-creating it and that doesn't help.  There is also a couple of existing SO detail UDFs that display in SO Entry but they are not visible / selectable when we have the custom office pallet open.  Something is messed up.   Any ideas / KB references or other help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

    Try resetting the panel from the context menu that appears when you right click an area of the task.
    When the option appears, check the one to reset all grids.

    Ive tried resetting the panel several times with no success.  If I add it using dlh-### then it works but adding it to ###-### ​ won;t display on the screen.  I thought about just starting with dlh-### and adding all of the UDFs on the screen however there is also UDF that show on the screen that are not select-able to be added to the panel.  What table(s) and or other objects are responsible for displaying the UDFs on the screen panels?  I know SY_GridDefinition has a lot of UDF information but I don't know how the fields related to the data displayed.

    It may already be in SY_GridDefinition for the ###-### lines grid?   That is what adding a field to a grid does: add a line to that table (it doesn't change the M4L).​ 
    Backup the table then try deleting the ###-### UDF line from SY_GridDefinition and try re-adding?

    • Deleted all of the UDF SO Line UDF records from SY_GridDefinition. (WHERE (FormID = 'SO_salesorder') AND (GridName = 'gd_lines') AND (IOLVar LIKE 'UDF%')).
    • Removed all of the UDFs from the SO lines panel.
    • Deleted the ###-### and all other folders from the SO\custom folder. 
    • Updated custom office panels and customizer logs. 
    • Reset the SO lines panel grid.
    • Added all of the UDFs back to the SO lines panel.
    • The UDFs do not display.

    I have it working but individual user now is dlh-### but for some reason ###-### is being stubborn.  At least there is now a viable work around.​

    You probably looked at these, but here are a few more suggestions:

    • Customized screens per Customization Group?
      • Users in in that Customization Group?
    • Customized screen all users, specific company?
    • UDF got placed on the secondary grid?
    • Regular vs wide width screen.  In my testing, I added the UDF to the regular width screen and the UDF showed in the wide width screen also.  But when I looked at the wide width screen via Custom Office, I didn't see the UDF there.  If users are using the "other" width, perhaps also purposely adding the item to the "other" width screen?

    I tested on V2019, SP2, ProvideX version.
