Trying to prove out the Pricing by Ttl Qty in 4.50

Trying to prove out the Pricing by Ttl Qty in 4.50 and haven't been able to see the results I think I should see. Have it set to use all items on the order. Setup 3 different items with 3 levels per item, with breaks at 100, 200, on up. Setup an order with a new customer with 1 line per item. Total qty is more than 200, yet pricing coming up is the up to 200 level pricing on all 3 items. Have recalc'd - same thing. Only way I can get the over 200 pricing to come up is for one LINE to have more than 200 qty on it. Has anyone else proofed this out?

I just tried it and have it set up as all, none and prompt and also did Yes to apply item price automatically . Well it didn't prompt me but when I hit the item price button on the bottom it worked for both. So ""apply item price automatically"" really doesn't work. :) It looks like the ES mod worked cleaner and easier.

I set mine up with all items and prompt and entered 2 lines on the sales order. The 2 lines combined took me to the next level on each line and when I accepted the order it asked if I wanted to do the price recalculation. It changed both lines to the correct price. It appeared to work correctly for me.

MIne should have actually gone to the third level and did not. I had level 1-100, 101-199, 201-999999. My item qtys were 26, 75, 100, which put me at 201. It got the price for all 3 items from the 101-199 level.

Maybe because you are missing 200 and didn't know what to do after 199???

Good observation! You are right, she is missing 200 so it had to go down to 199.

You're right Beth, it won't let you do that anyway - it automatically enters the beginning quantity on the level. I will test it using your quantities etc. and see if I have the same result.

Ok - do your test and go over 201 and see if it works. I tested 201 and then 202 and it worked when it was 202 but not when it was 201. Must be when the quantity is the same as the first quantity in the level.

I tested again and I think where my problem was and might be yours also is that I wasn't paying attention to the price level in customer maintenance. I set up my price schedules with a blank price level so if I chose customer who had a price level it wasn't working but does work on customers with a blank price level.

Ok I did the test the same way you had it and also with 4 tier - it all worked - even for the first quantity? I also tried it with items with different tiers and that worked also. I am working on 4.50.3 !

@Roberta - Yes I am working on blank price level for my testing.

Hm. I am specifically testing with a price level because that's how my customer wants to use it. And it's getting worse for me - I did qty 50, 50, 102 and the first 2 wouldn't even budge from the 1-100 qty break level even though it should have been 202 by the time it got done. So shouldn't it also work with a customer price level? Do NOT even tell me you think this is WAD!

While I haven't tested it yet, I would put my money on it being classified as TLTF....................

@Therese I was a little slow also -thanks for asking @JeffSchwenk . @Beth I have it working so not sure why it is not working for you. What pricing method are you using for the price level? I have tried it with price override and price disc amt. Both worked. Do you have the set up to look at UOM qty to none?

  • 18.  RE: Trying to prove out the Pricing by Ttl Qty in 4.50

    Posted 06-06-2012 05:00
@DianeRuth that was it, I think - the UOM qty set to NONE! My items had 2 different units of measure and I had it set to Standard. I never really paid attention to what the detail of that option was and just figured it was Sales vs Standard. Now one last thing - the price didn't actually calculate correctly until I got off the LInes tab and back - the Item Price button didn't do a damn thing - but if it can come up with the correct dollar, I guess I'll be happy. THANKS SO MUCH FOR SAYING THAT ONE LITTLE THING!

Moving off the lines tab was what I wasn't doing when I said it wasn't working right. I thought it would change also without leaving that screen. The item price button has been working for me but I think you have to be off your last line item for it to work.. Read the help on how the UOM is going to work - interesting.
