Trying to install Crystal Reports XI Release 2 to a customer site with extremely low disk space. The install routine does not appear to allow me to select an install location other than c:\Program Files (x86) Am I doing something wrong? The ""Browse"" button is grayed out

My guess is that it laid some files there from a previous install and it already has the location set. You must uninstall and delete the folder prior to indtallstion

Good thought - I don't see anything in the uninstall for Crystal

They have Act! installed (unknown on if they are active with it) so I'm thinking maybe there's some type of runtime that is installed for Crystal that's also interfering.

Note: If you have already installed other SAP Business Objects software, you cannot change the destination folder. http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/CR2011/en/xi4_cr_install_en.pdf

Thanks I guess this customer is in a world of hurt then. I'm in the process of attempting the ASI company merge / consolidation which overall is good except when it hits something you have to change with "" XPP and XAP companies have identical item codes with different type/valuation"" and leaves you to figure out the rest of the puzzle. Absent the ability to use Crystal I think this customer is now looking at change order city as their 1/1/15 deadline to complete this project nears.

Luckily one company that was being consolidated only had 20 misc items/charges so I was able to compare them side by side and spot the one that was a duplicate but different item type (misc vs charge). Since Sage doesn't let you change these after there's data I used DFDM on the item type.

@WayneSchulz - If memory serves me (always iffy) the consolidation program outputs txt files that list all the conflicts.

Thanks Jeff - there's a button on the consolidation which I think you click to see the conflicts. I didn't discover this until later in my testing so I'm not sure whether the button actually breaks out between ""nice to know"" and ""show stoppers"". I recall that there were several duplicates in the AR and AP master listed yet I didn't need to make change there. I had three company codes merging into one -- the only two changes I had to make were: a. Same COA size/structure b. CI Item had one item that was a misc in one company and a charge in another. Luckily the customer did not have a large number. Certainly on a bigger company with more elaborate data structure you could run into more issues. Total time to convert was about 30 minutes or so. From what I can see it took what would have been three or four days of work and trimmed it to perhaps 4 hours. I had to email ASI - Phil Whirley - twice on tech issues. Both times I received a quick response and they did everything over email which was much easier for me so we never had to play phone tag. This user was on v4.5 of Sage 100 so I anticipated it may have been a rougher conversion than it actually turned out to be. I'm still testing the output to see that everything converted. This particular user does not want the balances merged so I'm doing one final copy masterfile to get a blank set of data for them to start with 1/1/15. Therefore I won't be checking the balance detail super closely.
