Trying to install Crystal Reports 2011 on a Windows 7 workstation. Sage 100 version 5.10.1.0. No other versions of Crystal are installed on this workstation. The customer has tried rebooting a few times but the install routine always gets stuck at the same point. I have used this image of Crystal 2011 to install on other workstations so I don't think it is damaged.

    Also, I'm installing as administrator.

Does it ever actually error out? I had an install the other day that just took FOREVER but did finally get done, even though I thought NO a few times. BTW - my client was low on disk space. How's yours?

I haven't seen it error out. She claims to have left it installing over night with no success. I'll check on the hard drive space. Great idea!

Are you ""running as administrator"" or actually logged into the workstation as ""administrator"". I have seen where a program wouldn't install as ""run as"", needed to be logged on as administrator of that computer.

What directory are you installing to? Stay way from the Program Files and Program Files (x86) directories...

@KellySappington, I am verifying that with the customer. It's weird that it would even start the install. @PhilMcIntosh, pretty sure it's installing into the default directory. I'll ask her to try and install into a different one.

We had the same issue when running VIPRE Antivirus with Active Protection on. I think we had to actually stop the VIPRE Antivirus service for the install to complete. I think we used to run into issues with the file-path being too long or containing spaces, but I can't remember if that was Crystal 2011 or XI R2.

The installation routine finally finished. The customer ran the disk cleanup on her workstation and everything magically started working. Too strange! Thanks for all of the suggestions!

Installing Crystal 2011 on Windows 2012 R2 server. First I get an installer error (SetupEngine.exe has stopped working) then it gets stuck at ""Caching Deployment Units"" and then it errors out (Failed to update cache for execution). Installing to default C:\Sage\Crystal Reports 2011 for Sage. @Sage100UrgentSupportNeeded

I remembering running into this, but I don't remember what the solution was. Maybe VS 2005 x64 redist, Crystal SP 11 or .NET framework install.
