Trying to get a download of Sage 100 ERP 2014 that does not contain errors when I extract it. The first one I already had on my desktop contained errors extracting a bunch of Win 8 pre-requisites. So I downloaded a fresh copy. Same errors extracting. There are 125 errors in all - which seem to be related to Win 8 pre-requisites. There errors are all ""cannot open output file. I'm presently syncing to my Dropbox but wonder if this is anything to be worried about?

I had downloaded one a couple of weeks ago to a customer's server that extracted OK on the first try.

I have run into this problem several times - it seems to be related to - file names that are too long. @BrettZimmerman is the issue where you extract the 2014 download or is it that you need to download the 2014 file to the root of the C-drive or to a short folder name like c:\temp and then extract from the \temp folder.

I agree. Extract to a very high level folder................

Ditto with the above. The limit seems to be somewhere between 256 and 512 characters in length. That seems ridiculously long but an investigation of the path we were using turned out to be that long-winded. When we moved to path closer to the root of the drive, all worked well. Some of the path names Sage uses in their install are voluminous.

+1 to the above solution (path too long). One issue to this is that when you extract to the current folder -- if it's ""Download"" there's still a lengthy path (/users/name/download). When I created c:\v2014disks the download extracted perfectly. Thank you all for the feedback.

@MichaelMcDonald, it's the extraction piece from what I can tell. Appears the download can be placed anywhere.
