Trying to Generate PO from a Sales Order on client machine. Keeps saying nothing to generate. Has one line item and it does have a Vendor in the Vendor field. I thought that was pretty much the only requirement. Client does have JC integration with SO, but I can't find any doc saying that is in issue. Old KB down now, so can't look. Anyone know?

Is the sales order linked to a job#? If so, what is the job status?

I deleted the link to the job (I'm in a test company).

What is the reorder method for the item? What is your selection for the ""Base order Quantity On"" field?

Ai, @DougHiggs - I forgot the Generate options are based on the Auto options on the main menu in PO. I'll have to go check that!

Poop. Base order qty on Sales Order Qty. Auto Generate on the menu won't create a PO either.

Use DFDM to check the rec in SalesOrderDetail file. Field 67 is Purchase Order #. If field is non-blank, then new PO will not generate.

Ixnay to both - it's not drop ship and PO field is blank (I can see it on the screen).

Is there a vendor assigned to the item in Item Maintenance?

No vendor in Item Maintenance, but I manually put one in the Vendor field on the line item.

Beth have you checked all the setting in the Default setting for auto generate fro SO? Item Types and Product types to Generate has burned me before. even sales order status of Backorder was causing issues at one client.

OMG! Client has Inventory, SO, PO and JC - PO is not integrated with IM! Finally realized there was a blank space on the Auto Generate. Now wondering how in the heck they have been purchasing for stock???????? Well, anyway, thanks everyone - I guess I overlooked the SUPER obvious option.
