Traying to do a 4.4 to 4.5 in-place upgrade. The install program is not detecting the 4.4 install so I can update it, but is taking me to the registration info screen. Anyone know how to make it ""see"" the 4.4?

I've encountered this issue also. My work around was to install into separate folder. NOT the answer I wanted. I would be very interested on how others overcome this obstacle.

I got this and what I did was rename the 4.4 and get past the screen where it asked where I wanted to install it. Then before it actually started copying anything I copied the 4.4 back where it was and continued the install and it installed over.

    Thanks, I'll try that!

I am sure there is a registry key or keys the install is looking for, would love to know if anyone knows where they are. Then you might be able to export from a working system and import to the broken system. The answer I got from Sage once with a 4.3 to 4.4 upgrade was to install a new 4.3 system and migrate from the old, then install 4.4 in-place to the ""newly migrated"" 4.3 system. Really long way to solve the problem, should have just done a parallel!!

V4.3 to a v4.4 was supposed to be parallel. Are you saying you did otherwise?

Threw in the towel after beating it to death with Sage. Going parallel.

@Jeff, you are correct, must have my versions mixed up. I also had a similar problem trying to add a new module and the installer would not see the install, the answer was to do a new install and migrate. Sounds like the same issue.

    Did you try Beth's idea?

@BethBowers, there were, shall we say, complications. Their working registration keys wouldn't work! The new keys I had from Sage had an additional module on them and I didn't want to use them, for fear it would complicate matters even more. Got online with Sage. We tried removing files in the \HOME folder, but couldn't get it to go. So I finally go for the parallel migration. Get the data converted. Now go to install additional module they purchased. The new keys from Sage DON'T WORK! Have to get new keys generated at 4:50 PM. Who says this key generation issue is resolved?!

Actually, earlier this month, they sent me the keys with a snap shot of the installation panel that displayed all the modules to prove to me they worked. Thought that was interesting in that they have no faith in their key generator When will the worst be behind us??
