Tool Usage and Consumables
There was one discussion in the past regarding this, and I believe @DougHiggs has a customer that uses Tool Watch, but the only integration is with the Sage 300 CRE product. There are actually many standalone software packages for this function for manufacturing and construction applications. My requirement is for tools and consumables in a manufacturing environment plus on-site installations that involve as much as a dozen people and minimum of 1 month on-site. This customer has a problem tracking and/or losing tools in both locations. It could be as simple as checking out/checking in and tracking the person and location.
This is a feature of the Sage Inventory Management (""Tracking"") module for Fixed Assets, but having used it once, it seemed overly tedious. My latest idea is to use the ACSG Multi-Bin enhancement (which they already will require) and do bin transfers to people and noting the location or department and job. When finished with the tool, it would be transferred back to the tool cage.
Has anyone done this? Thoughts or alternatives?
