    Hi there

I have done the best I can to keep up on the TLS issues, but have not kept current (and now have a reason to).  I see a post that shows TLS hotfixes available for a variety of versions (which i definitely do not want to make public to my clients since i have too have been pushing upgrades).

My question - does any one know if the drop dead date without hotfixes is still 08/31/23 that a subscription client on version 2017 will no longer be able to speak to the Sage servers and go into read only mode?

At one point Sage's Mike Ritchie indicated that this license check happens differently based upon the subscription term. For a monthly subscription, licenses are checked monthly which means those customers will be the first to encounter a potential issue. For annual or multi-year licenses those are checked at some point just prior to expiration ( I'm not sure whether it's right on the expiration date or whether there may be an advanced check/warning ).

YMMV as to whether all or any of this proves to be accurate. I recommend taking the position that the expiration is September 2023 and customers need to upgrade no matter what their subscription license term is ( note that perpetual may not be impacted).

The Sage FAQ on this issue - Online encryption security enhancements - indicates "Effective September 2023, Sage servers will stop accepting communication from Sage 100 and Sage 300 product versions using TLS 1.0 and 1.1."
